WELCOME TO THE HUNGRY CYCLIST

Welcome to The Hungry Cyclist Online, a small corner of the Internet dedicated to one man's inter-continental pursuit of the perfect meal - on a bicycle. My name is Tom, I live in London, England, and through this website you can follow my pedal-powered gastronomic adventures of where my bicycle takes me to satisfy hunger.

On the road in British Colombia

As the name suggest The Hungry Cyclist is all about food and cycling and what you are reading now is my own testament to a joyous marriage of gears and gastronomy. I love to ride my bike, I love to eat, and on this blog, from the comfort of your computer you can follow my global pedal-powered quest in search of the perfect meal.

I'm not after swanky restaurants and haute cuisine. On my self-funded bike rides I am looking for the real food of the places I visit. The day to day food. From street food to market canteens, my travels on a bicycle help me understand the base importance of the food we eat and prepare and this is what I ma looking for. Simple, healthy and well prepared food eaten with local people.

On previous trips, my trusty bicycle and love of food have introduced me to some amazing people, stunning places and delicious eating, but i'm still hungry for more and whether it be a short ride to the local butcher or an epic journey along the beaches of Brazil, here on The Hungry Cyclist blog you can follow every mouthful and every turn of my pedals as I cycle in search of my culinary Holy Grail.

Here at thehungrycyclist.com you can browse my global collection of recipes sourced on my bicycle, watch videos from my travels, peruse photos from around the world, find out more about cycle touring, but more importantly you can get involved!  I want you to tell me where and what to eat. Whether it be dinner with your mother-in-law, lunch in your local cafe or a trip to your local market, I'm hungry and if you think you know where the perfect meal exists I need you to tell me where I might find it.

Welcome aboard and enjoy the ride.
